GRAPHIC DESIGN: NOW IN PRODUCTION

GRAPHIC DESIGN: NOW IN PRODUCTION

To all the design enthusiasts out there, if you’re lucky to be in the US before 22 January 2012 make your way to Minneapolis to catch the “Graphic Design: Now in Production” exhibit running at the Walker Art Center.

The exhibition explores how the industry has changed over the last decade and particularly how new technology and buzz–spreading social media have altered the design profession.

The exhibition highlights design works from this period, including design-driven magazines, newspapers, books, and posters as well as branding programs for corporations. It also showcases a series of developments such as the entrepreneurial nature of designer-produced goods, the renaissance in digital typeface design and the storytelling potential of titling sequences for film and television.

Yours in Graphic Design,
Julia Lechien & Amber van Sloten
