About Brio Group

Our story so far

Brio Group started life as a design and tactical marketing agency under the name Red-i Design back in 2002. The team established a reputation for thoughtful and visually impressive design that gradually won them a number of local and state government clients in Queensland and across Australia.

The business was rebranded as Brio Group in 2010, with the team growing large enough to partition between digital and print design. This rebrand coincided with the first official offshoot arm, Tagged PDF, being established to support a growing need for document accessibility. As Australia’s first dedicated document remediation business, Tagged PDF supported the design and marketing arm in delivering content that met the new government obligations under the National Transition Strategy and WCAG 2.0 initially, through to the Digital Service Standard 2.0 and WCAG 2.2 today. Tagged PDF grew beyond simply ‘tagging PDFs’ and rebranded to Meet Aandi in 2023, where we provide remediation, tools, training, and consulting for documents, video and digital platforms.

With this in mind, Brio grew to include accessible design as a key part of the communication process for all clients. All work that Brio undertakes is viewed through an accessibility and inclusion lens, while Tagged PDF aimed to serve customers with existing documents or support other design agencies without the same accessibility expertise in-house.

Another key point of difference for Brio Group was the approach to branding, utilising psychological principles to underpin the strategic direction of developing brand elements. The methodology was based in archetypes, or brand personalities, as theorised by renowned psychiatrist Carl Jung. This approach took on a life of it’s own and became the successful offshoot Brandonian in 2017 – another strong addition to the larger group.

The Brio Group family continues to grow in line with the changing landscape. Guiding others to learn, grow and be successful has always been and will always be the driving energy behind Brio Group and its offshoots.

The key people behind Brio Group

It has long been said that people don’t buy from brands – they buy from people.

While we have no problem pushing back against things said long ago, we do feel it is worth showcasing some of the people who drive Brio Group forward

Belinda Vesey-Brown
Founder of Brio Group

For over twenty years Belinda has used the power of communications to connect people. Over this time, she realised the missing link was ensuring that these communications were reaching out to people of all abilities.

Belinda saw that communications were not always inclusive while some specific audiences were completely missing out on understanding the content.

Following a ‘vision’ for a better more accessible solution led Belinda to develop the team’s expertise in accessibility, and incorporate this knowledge into Brio Groups design and communications.
