TED: Ideas worth spreading
Want to be inspired? Love learning? I know I certainly do.
If you haven’t discovered it already… TED is an amazing non-for-profit – “We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. So we’re building here a clearinghouse that offers free knowledge and inspiration from the world’s most inspired thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other”.
TED started in 1984 as a conference bringing people together from three different worlds: technology, entertainment, and design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. The annual conferences in Long Beach and Oxford bring together the world’s most fascinating people (who are challenged to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes), and the best of these inspirational and informative speeches are loaded onto TEDTalks for everyone to see!
One great example is a speech by Randy Pausch titled “Really achieving your childhood dreams”.
