Background
Queensland Urban Utilities wanted to ensure there was a an open conversation with their employees around safety standards and best-practice processes. QUU had implemented a staff-wide survey in a bid to understand the roadblocks and challenges their employees faced, and having collected a lot of data, wanted to find an engaging way to share their findings with their staff.
The Challenge
There was a lot of data to be shared and our key goal was to do so in an engaging manner, whilst ensuring that the information was digestible and accessible.
The Solution
Our approach was to create six posters that would be strategically placed within the offices of QUU, presenting the survey responses data while creating awareness around safety standards.
We have explored several visual directions for representing data, including visualised numbers and icons, circular and hierarchical charts, but settled on a combination of bar charts that were paired with custom illustrations – to ensure the data could be easily understood (and response percentage easily compared) and was engaging. We also wanted to ensure that all posters were recognised as part of a suite.
