Kung Fu Panda 2 and Jack Black – YouTube Epicness!

Kung Fu Panda 2 and Jack Black – YouTube Epicness!

In true brilliant marketing campaign style, Dreamworks has unleashed on YouTube with an awesome YouTube based campaign supporting the impending release of Kung Fu Panda 2.

The video (which I will link below) starts with Jack Black (voice of Po, the panda) rehearsing his “Skadoosh” reading. Black goes through a few takes looking for the right delivery of the line until about 27 seconds in where he declares that he has an idea. The video then changes and invites the viewer to “Click for Epicness” which of course, I did.

The result is a redirect to YouTube that really is all sorts of Epic!

The YouTube video features Po the Panda demolishing the YouTube interface and grabbing video thumbnails from the right side of the screen. The viewer is invited to click and drag some of these thumbnails and text boxes into Po which he then in turn “Skadooshes”. The final result, a trailer for the new Kung Fu Panda film.

This is really very well done and is an amazing use of the YouTube platform. This kind of interactive advertising via YouTube is extremely engaging and shows how the company is utilising its creative resources to come up with an online campaign that just begs to be shared.

Check out the video below and don’t forget to “Click for Epicness”!
