Creative ways to recruit new staff
Who said you can’t be creative when looking for staff? A creative agency in Germany proved that you can be creative and also serve a daily need to eat at the same time! Scholz&Friends was wanting to build two new digital teams in Hamburg and listed the agencies where potential employees worked and then they tempted them with a tasty QR Coded pizza.
The “Pizza Digitale” (or Digital Pizza) was the basis for the recruitment campaign with the collaboration of the food on demand delivery service Croque Master.
Servicing a common need to eat, especially when working back late, the Digital Pizza which features a two dimensional bar code drawn and cooked with tomato on it was delivered on demand.
When the bar code was scanned by any smartphone, the user of the phone lands on a website where the job offers for digital creatives were displayed.
The Digital Pizza was available over a four week period, with free delivery at the request of the people working at the ad agencies located in Hamburg, which were selected by Scholz&Friends.
Scholz&Friends claim they managed to ‘sauce’ (source) 12 interviews resulting in two new teams hired.
I love this creative approach to recruitment as it really highlights how a standard / traditional process doesn’t always need to be followed to deliver results.
