Brio Group win Ben & Jerry’s Free Scoop Friday!

There’s nothing like ice-cream to sweeten up your afternoon at work. Especially free ice-cream of the gourmet variety – Ben & Jerry’s! Pretty sure I scored massive brownie points with the team last week when the B&J crew came knocking on Brio Group‘s door with 50 tubs of the delicious stuff in tow.

So despite being swept up in the sugar-sweet prize – it got me thinking how I entered the competition in the first place. Simply, because I ‘liked’ Ben & Jerry’s Australia on Facebook.

Every now and then I see their updates pop up on my live news feed, and one day their competition for Free Scoop Fridays grabbed my attention. “I must win this” I thought to myself. But before coming up with the 25 winnings words, the social media strategist in me thought “What a cool way to engage with your fans, give away an ‘experience’ style prize at work, and take photos to post on Facebook at the same time.”

Plus, interestingly, the competition did not let on just how many tubs would be delivered – rather stating “share a tub or two”. Now a tub or two would have been absolutely fine (especially given they set you back about $13 in Brisbane … which makes me miss my 2 quid Tesco special in the UK!). So imagine our sheer delight when 50 tubs arrived?!

This is a great example of feel-good branding, sharing an ‘experience-based’ prize which you naturally talk about with your mates, and of course – telling everyone on Facebook (or on a blog for that matter!).
