2010 AWNY Advertising Women of New York

2010 AWNY Advertising Women of New York

When I first entered the world of advertising many years ago, there was always the magical allure of it being some lofty glamorous world, with people in huge, glass offices wearing tailored suits and there is nowhere more potent than the advertising capital of the world, New York City.  Major agencies, major brands, major budgets… an advertising mecca!

It was traditionally a very male-dominated industry, but that has changed over the decades (thankfully)  – fast forward to that of the year 2010 and women are making vast inroads into agency-land, marketing departments and the major brands of the world. Making a difference and shaking up the ‘norm’ of how things are done.

The 2010 AWNY Advertising Women of New York Awards were held recently this year to honour inspiring women in advertising. I read an inspiring article of one such woman, Porter Gale VP of Marketing Virgin America, in Adweekmedia: check out page 10  of the 2010 AWNY award. Hope you find her inspiring too.

Yours in design,

Kellee from Brio Group
