SmartClinics, located at Chermside in Brisbane’s north, is Australia’s first-ever medical clinic led by Nurse Practitioners and Midwives with support by an onsite GP. The innovative approach to health care was born from founder Steven Dahl’s frustration over waiting times and will offer patients a unique experience combining convenience with extended opening hours.

To educate the consumer about what a ‘SmartClinic’ and ‘Nurse Practitioner’ is, via press, marketing and advertising channels. To deliver a campaign that position SmartClinics as a modern medical clinic using the latest medical technology and smart practices.
To bring to life the SmartClinics brand, which is anchored on the ‘human touch’ of Nurse Practitioners, ‘connected care’ and ‘convenience’ the team sketched and designed a number of campaign ideas. We used simple illustrations to show the clear benefits of SmartClinics: simple, easy, convenient health care. The strong pink and black colours and the ‘no time’ messaging were used prominently to assist in defining who SmartClinics are. The designs further promote SmartClinics as a health care provider that ‘makes things happen’, in ‘no time’. Using simple imagery we targeted key demographics including busy mothers, families, time-poor professionals, men who typically avoid doctors. All copy used across the campaign maintained a simple but educational tone to dispel confusion and myths about what health care services a Nurse Practitioner is able to provide. The clinic’s unique location within a metropolitan shopping centre provided a dynamic opportunity to apply the final concepts to a variety of mediums including EyeLites, washroom advertising and LCD promotions. Brio Group was also heavily involved with the interior and exterior fit-out and developed all signage elements along with a mural for the kid’s playroom and height charts for each consult room.
We successfully produced a suite of branded materials to support the launch of SmartClinics' first medical clinic. The designs were well received by the client. Wide media coverage on the launch of the clinic has been achieved including online, press and television including stories in Channel 9’s Today Show, Channel 7, The Australian and Quest News. We continue to work with SmartClinics following their launch.
